UFlex Partners with IIP Delhi to promote recycling awareness

INDIA – UFlex, India’s largest multinational flexible packaging company, has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) Delhi to champion recycling, circular economy, and sustainability.

Central to this partnership is the newly established Ideation Zone at the IIP campus, an interactive hub that aims to educate students, professionals, and the public on sustainable practices.

The Ideation Zone, inaugurated by Mr. Jeevaraj Pillai, Director of Sustainability at UFlex Limited, showcases practical applications of circular economy principles.

Constructed using recycled materials such as multi-layer plastic and aseptic packaging waste, it exemplifies how flexible plastics can be repurposed into sustainable infrastructure.

The inauguration also marked the launch of educational initiatives to advance circular economy practices.

Bridging industry and academia

This partnership seeks to bridge the gap between industry and academia by fostering a deeper understanding of packaging’s environmental impact and the role of innovation in driving recycling efforts.

Designed to inspire young minds, the initiative encourages students to address sustainability challenges and develop solutions for a greener future.

UFlex, which recycles nearly 30,000 MT of plastic waste annually across Poland, Mexico, and India, will host workshops and seminars with industry leaders and sustainability experts.

These sessions will focus on recycling technologies, R&D’s role in sustainable packaging, and integrating these concepts into academic curricula, preparing future professionals for leadership in sustainable innovation.
